Costa Coffee, Brent Cross Shopping Centre

November 17, 2006

We have three guest entries for Standinaqueue today, and I will post each one up in turn.

Our first is from Hsien who has sent in a lovely picture of the queue at Costa Coffee.

She writes:

“You’ve totally got me hooked on taking pics of queues.
Drat your evil influence.

Here’s a pic from the Costa cafe at Brent Cross Shopping Center near London on November 11. I have never seen a more bored looking group of people.

Check out the three folks at the end of the line.”

Although I do admire Hsien’s dedication to Standinaqueue, I am a little worried by the measures that she will go to to get the perfect queue picture.

For her very first entry to Standinaqueue, Gary Wood pointed out that Hsien had taken the photograph from inside the bushes in front of the Natural History Museum. And we can see from the picture above, although you cannot fault her composition, Hsien has clearly climbed into the roof’s structure to snap this photograph.

After I complete a background check, I think it’s about time that we gave Hsien some kind of award.

You can call me for a reference on Hsien. I will tell you the truth about her. She is a little nuts, but I love her. And she definitely deserves an award. ;)

  4. Hsien Lei Says:

Do.Not.Call.Christina. She has waaaay too much dirt on me (including my escapades of cutting in line).

  5. Christina Says:

(heh – email me for the scoop)

As long as it does not cause me to blush. Tell all.

I see Christina that you’re into beauty. What do you suggest for the skin at this time of year? The change in seasons is playing havoc with my complexion.

  7. Gary Wood Says:

Even better than photo from bush.

  8. Christina Says:

A nice heavy moisturizer at night and a lotion with sunscreen for the day, Willliam, would be perfect. :) LOL

  9. Gary Wood Says:

    Heavy moisturizer? how heavy?

  10. williamdeed Says:

I don’t think she means elephant heavy. Maybe melon heavy.

  11. sarahdeed Says:

ya ya ya ya ya (That’s spanish for ha ha ha ha ha).

I did some background checking and looked at Hsien page and there was some impressive links to genetics and health. I think she deserves an award.

  12. sarahdeed Says:

maybe she’s modified her genes to be able to place herself in spaces unobtainable to the normal person?

  13. sarah Says:

Or Storm, maybe she can control the weather too?

  14. williamdeed Says:

I think you two are getting a little carried away.

To date, there is no evidence of Hsien controlling the weather. All we know is that she can hide well and climb well. And I don’t think, somehow, that her genetic coding has enabled her to do this any better than the next person.

  15. Gary Wood Says:

I have never seen Hsien take a photo on a rainy day though. I see no evidence against her weather controlling abilities.

(your secret is safe with us Hsien)
