We have our second guest blogger at standinaqueue, the lovely Hsien from cottontimer has sent in some rather grand looking photos of the queue at the Natural History Museum.

She states that “there was a monster queue snaking back and forth starting from Cromwell Road up to the entrance. It’s the start of half term so the crowd was to be expected. Fortunately, we got in after about a 10 minute wait.”

“There was also a queue inside to see the dinosaur exhibit. Estimated time 30 minutes but was actually less than 10 so all in all some fast moving, pleasant queues despite being in the company of an antsy preschooler!”

I like the photo taken from bush.

Hmmm, missed out the word ‘the’.
I like the photo taken from the bush.

I too am impressed. This is the kind of dedication that standinaqueue needs.

LOL You guys are great and have real appreciation for queues. I love the Natural History Museum. It’s gorgeous with some amazing exhibits too. While I’m out and about this week, I’ll try to send some more cool pictures.
Thanks for including me in this fun project, William!!

[...] I’m standing in a queue over at William’s standinaqueue and even have my own category there now: Hsien Lei stood in a queue. More pictures over a href=”http://standinaqueue.wordpress.com/2006/10/24/natural-history-museum-london/”>there. [...]

You’re very welcome Hsien, and we’re looking forward to some more of your brilliant photos.
I’m thinking about organising an event in the middle of next month, similar to the National Trust’s One Day in History, where all the guest queuers here at standinaqueue will stand in a queue on a certain day.
Of course we will never reach the same scale as the National Trust, but we may be able to gather enough people to make it an event.
What do you think Hsien Lei and Gary Wood?
October 25, 2006 at 2:03 pm
Stand in a Queue day is sure to be a success. I can hardly think of a day when I’m not in one at some point or other!

I’m in line! No Pushing!

Jolly good.
I’ve decided that November the 16th will be standinaqueue Day. I’ll sort out the finer details and try to get a celebrity on board.
October 25, 2006 at 5:42 pm
Actually, lets make it the 9th. That gives us a whole two weeks to find a celebrity. Maybe Gary Wood could ask Gordon Ramsey to document a queue?
October 25, 2006 at 6:13 pm
I’ll ask Gordy,
How about you Hsien Lei, when can you join the queue?
We’ll make badges.

Hsien Lei is already in the queue.
We need to get our heads down and work on some promotional emails.
October 25, 2006 at 7:30 pm
But can Ms Lei queue on the standinaqueue day. You do realise it will require 24 hours of queuing.
If only we knew some people to be able to send e-mails to.
October 25, 2006 at 8:28 pm
Oh dear Gary Wood, I do believe you are running away with this.
There will be a 24 hour period that you have to queue in, but not for the whole time. All participants will merely record one queue that they are in that day.
I’m sure with google we could find some celebrity email addresses.
October 25, 2006 at 9:40 pm
I shall stand my groud, I will queue for 24 hours.
October 25, 2006 at 10:04 pm
Damn it, stand my ground.
I should proof read my comments.
Two mistakes in one set of comments.

There there Gary Wood.

[...] For her very first entry to Standinaqueue, Gary Wood pointed out that Hsien had taken the photograph from inside the bushes in front of the Natural History Museum. And we can see from the picture above, although you cannot fault her composition, Hsien has clearly climbed into the roof’s structure to snap this photograph. [...]
